Here is a Christmas present for jaguar fans: a new interview with Alan Rabinowitz, one of the world's jaguar experts, about jaguar conservation and biology. He is optimistic about the future of the species, but not so much about their reestablishing themselves in the U.S.

Seems to connect well with his last book "An indomitable Beast", which had some very interesting (and surprising) chapters.

Nice article, although I think he goes a bit too far in his negative assessment of the southwest (Arizona) jaguar. There is a resident male in the Santa Rita Mountains, which I could ride my bike to from my downtown Tucson home in a couple hours, and he is not "returning to Mexico." Neither did Macho A or Macho B in the mountains west of there.
