Two jaguar cubs were born here in August. This is good news for the U.S. gene pool, because I believe the parents were imported from Guatemala. (Could be somewhere else in Latin America, but I know they were both imported).

A single male jaguar cub was born on October 7, 2011.

In addition to the two typical jaguar adults they have had for a while, the gallery shows they now have a black jaguar adult as well. The names of the new cubs parents are listed, but not with a photo, so I am not sure if the parents are the two typical adults that gave birth to last years litter or if it is one of those paired with the black one. The gallery does have a photo of the black one sparring with one of the yellow ones, so I know they have been together at least.

The jaguar babies just keep coming! Two females were born on April 28, 2012. Although they are very small in the photo on the website (with no way to enlarge), it appears one is normal morph and one is black morph.

This is a dream of mine (to photograph both morphs together - and cubs would be a bonus) so I think I may need to make an unscheduled trip to California this summer.
