im doing a assignment at college about jagur husbandry at chester zoo
i was wondering if anyone knows how often they are fed in a week, do they have a stave day?
also whether their diet changes at all week to week?

unless we have a member who is particularly diligent around the jaguar feeding times, then your best bet for this information would be to contact the zoo themselves (then you can accurately reference the information as well)

In 2002 the food for the jaguars was

meat on the bone (Saturday to Tuesday)
whole chicken (Wednesday and Thursday)
fish (Friday)

The method of presenting the food and also the time was varied from day to day. For enrichment food was sometimes dragged around the enclosure so that the jaguars had to follow a scent trail to find their meal hidden under a pile of branches or leaves, or wedged into a crack in the rocks. Food was also buried or tied to a rope and as the cat approached it was jerked away so that the jaguar had to 'hunt it's prey.'

Food could also be cut into tiny pieces and scattered around the exhibit or suspended from branches, and on occasion floated on a raft on the pond.
