The aquarium has a new native shellfish tank housing Eastern Oysters and Hard Clams. It serves as a nursery for them to eventually be released into the bay.

Hey all, does anyone know where I can find an animal list for the aquarium. I want to add things to my list of seen animals but I want to be as accurate as possible.
How do you know if you saw them or not if you didn't make the list yourself?

I wasn't keeping a list at the time. I have since started and want to include zoos/aquariums I have been to in the last year. If I don't very clearly remember the animal, I assume I did not see it. I keep my notes app handy nowadays.

On February 7th, the aquarium announced that a (0.0.1) African penguin was hatched on January 7th. On March 21st, the aquarium announced its gender, (1.0). On March 30th, the aquarium announced his name, Elmer.

On May 10th, the aquarium announced that a (1.0) African penguin named Onyx passed away at age 26 due to melanoma.

On November 9th, the aquarium completed an extensive renovation of the 2nd floor which reopened to the public. There are various new exhibits including an Indo-Reef display as well as a new exhibit for their Linne's two-toed sloth.

That's saddening. He was the only exhibited brown-mantled tamarin in the country as far as I'm aware. I was hoping to see him when I visit the aquarium in August, but there's no reason to go now.

On August 8th, the aquarium announced they acquired 2 Lehmann's poison frogs named Duncan and Paige, from the King School in Connecticut, which are now on exhibit. According to ZTL, the species is only at Dallas World Aquarium in Texas, as well as 2 facilities in Colombia and a facility in Germany.

The African Penguin KRINGLE has passed away at the age of nearly 30.
Jenkinson's Aquarium on Instagram: "We are sad to share the passing of our beloved African penguin, Kringle. Kringle hatched at the aquarium in December 1995. Due to her laid back, drama-free personality she became a favorite among our staff and guests. A perfect ambassador for her species, she visited many schools and libraries to bring ocean conservation awareness. Kringle had been experiencing some health issues over the last couple months. It became apparent that these issues were terminal and we had to make the difficult decision to humanely euthanize her. Her loss will be felt by all. "
