How do you know if you saw them or not if you didn't make the list yourself?

I wasn't keeping a list at the time. I have since started and want to include zoos/aquariums I have been to in the last year. If I don't very clearly remember the animal, I assume I did not see it. I keep my notes app handy nowadays.
 
2022 News:

On February 7th, the aquarium announced that a (0.0.1) African penguin was hatched on January 7th. On March 21st, the aquarium announced its gender, (1.0). On March 30th, the aquarium announced his name, Elmer.

On May 10th, the aquarium announced that a (1.0) African penguin named Onyx passed away at age 26 due to melanoma.

On May 24th, the aquarium announced that (0.0.2+?) seahorses (species(s) not specified) were hatched on January 17th.

On July 26th, the aquarium announced that due to avian influenza, they moved their penguins and parrots from their outdoor exhibits to their indoor exhibits.

On August 26th, the aquarium announced that their (0.1) scarlet macaw named Scarlet has passed away.

On November 9th, the aquarium completed an extensive renovation of the 2nd floor which reopened to the public. There are various new exhibits including an Indo-Reef display as well as a new exhibit for their Linne's two-toed sloth.

On January 26th, 2024, the aquarium announced that a (0.1) African penguin named Checkers passed away at age 28 due to age-related kidney issues.

On February 12th, the aquarium announced they acquired a (0.1) Pacific harbor seal named Turbo from The Marine Mammal Center in California in January which is on exhibit.

On February 16th, the aquarium announced that a (1.0) African penguin named Dunlop passed away at age 31 on February 15th due to a significant decline in health caused by malignant melanoma cancer.

On August 15th, the aquarium announced that 2 zebra sharks hatched which are on exhibit.

On August 29th, the aquarium announced they acquired a (0.1) common marmoset named Fergie after she was confiscated by the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection which is on display in the pygmy marmoset exhibit.

On October 22nd, the aquarium announced they named the sharks Atlas and Indy.

On March 12th, 2025, the aquarium announced they acquired a (1.0) Geoffroy's marmoset named OB Wan Ken OB from Zoo Knoxville in Tennessee which is now on display in the pygmy marmoset/common marmoset exhibit.

On April 21st, the aquarium announced they acquired a (0.1) African penguin named Beach (Donkey) from New England Aquarium in Massachusetts in March 2024.

On August 8th, the aquarium announced they acquired 2 Lehmann's poison frogs named Duncan and Paige, from the King School in Connecticut, which are now on exhibit. According to ZTL, the species is only at Dallas World Aquarium in Texas, as well as 2 facilities in Colombia and a facility in Germany.
