Belfast Zoo Jenny and Dunja arrive

I do hope Yhetto fits in well, I think most likely yes she'll be the lowest ranked member in the herd but hopefully still accepted.

Yhetto isn't being picked on by the others, quite the opposite actually, there have been occassions when she has dominated both jenny and dunja, but then doesn't know what to do next.
Eventually she'll be put in her place and will be fine, just every now and then she gets ideas bigger then her station!

Thank you very much easytigger! Are the 4 now together each day? I guess they`re still seperated during the night, even if they have acess to the outdoor yard 24-7? Who`s the dominant female? I always assumed it would be Jenny, she`s been the dominant female in Hannover, together with her friend Indra. Dunja has always been low ranking.

In Krefeld, Yethoo has been bullied by Rhena and Mumtas all her life and she was always the outsider and never had a friend. It`s not surprising that she is having some social issues now.

we had to keep jenny and dunya seperate from tina and yhetoo fro 10 days while they were blood tested for blue tongue (Ireland is blue tongue free) once blood tests had come back negative (as expected as they had been tested and vaccinated in Germany) they were mixed together and have been together 24/7 other then seperation for target training and foot care work.

As yet an exact dominance chain hasn't been established, Tina tends to keep on the fringe as she's been bullied before, Yhetoo just doesn't quite know what to do, although she always goes to tina for reassurance after an issue.

We have seen footage of yhetoo's past treatment and use in shows, and we are delighted that she will never have to wear a chain again, given her past she is doing well in all aspects of her behaviour and is a popular elephant with all the ele team

I was very impressed by the welfare provisions when I saw the four 'old ladies' back in the summer . Just getting the four to live freely together is an achievement .

thats excellent, sand and pipes seem to pose fun even for elderly elephants!
