Jim Fowler's wildlife park

[Arizona Docent]

Jim Fowler, the famous assistant to Marlin Perkins on the 70's television series Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, was supposed to be building a new wildlife park down South. After his first deal fell through, there was a second one in the works. But I have not heard anything lately. Does anyone know if there are definite plans to start construction? Or is the whole project cancelled?

Sorry, but I can't contribute much. All I know about the guy besides what you mentioned is that he is on the board for the Zoological Association of America. In the example newsletter and short bio about him says that he does have a wildlife ranch though.

This has been "in the works" in various locations around Georgia and ne Florida for a decade.

If I am not mistaken, he has a lot to do with Chehaw Animal Park in Albany GA, whether he owns it or not I am not certain. The elephants that were there used to be his.

Is it AZA accredited or ZAA? I was sort of surprised to see Red Wolves, Cheetahs, Black Rhinos, and Meerkats on their map.

AZA. Its a nice little zoo and when I visited they had a lot of construction going on.
