I don't think it's really a rumour anymore... the lions are definitely joining Jimmy's Farm.
Speaking of, I quite like the fact that we're seeing more Asiatic lions on the horizon joining British zoos again. Hertfordshire (formerly known as Paradise wildlife park) added the species, Chester zoo will be getting a new pair soon, Wingham are due to get them and Jimmy's Farm will become one of the new holders of this endangered subspecies.
I'm sensing good times ahead for the future of Asian lions in captivity... let's hope they can pull off a breeding group.
I think it'll likely be the remaining one from Chessington for now... though I imagine they might acquire a new pair if the lone tiger passes away at Jimmy's.
I would also think so mainly due to her age as I believe she's around 17rys old?
She was 15 in June this year

Found the reference on the video interesting that one exhibit will have high mounds and a really deep pool. I found this interesting, as I can’t image any other Amur Tiger exhibits, that include big mounds / hills in their enclosures and also a really deep pool. I was a little surprised to see the Tiger exhibit contain at present very little foliage and looked quite open.l

I think the high mounds may be for the lions... I don't get why they would need a deep pool though as they're not keen on water like a couple of certain big cats.
The Tiger and 2 lions have now left Chessington for Jimmy's Farm, sad day for Chessington but I'm sure Jimmy's is better suited for them.

Good link. I thought this was nice to see, continuation of care and job continuity for the keeper too, good to see the people who care for the animals looked after as well.
For the last four years, they have been cared for by carnivore keeper, Adam Brunning, who moved with them to Jimmy's Farm and Wildlife Park.

I wonder if they have built it with the future in mind with the new cats being a little older and potentially a future breeding recommendation if they can make that work, where multiple enclosures for tigers or different enclosure mixes for lions and tigers moving forwards might be helpful.
Glad to see big cats now living at Jimmy's farm.
I'm curious... are there anymore enclosures still being prepared? Not to put pressure on the workers or anything.. but wondering if anything else is joining the new Asian animal area.

There are more new enclosures, but separate to this development.

The brand-new Woodland Walkway will create an exciting link between the main Park and the woodland area where our Brown Bears reside. Meanwhile, the former habitat of our Bactrian Camels is being transformed into a vibrant new home dedicated to our South American species!
I believe these will be the next enclosures to be worked upon, maybe a Summer 2026 addition?
The lions and tiger reserves are opening this Saturday 25th October shows they have settled in well to go on show so early.
