Jokes Only a Zoochatter Would Understand

Whats the day exhibit?
It was essentially the zoo's reptile house, with stuff like tree kangaroos, dwarf crocodiles, and reticulated pythons. The exhibit closed in 2016 due to a fire. Thankfully, the exhibit will be re-opening as "Forests For All" in 2026 :D.

There was also a portion of the area called the "Night Exhibit" which was closed for some reason back in 2009. It was scheduled to re-open in 2018, but it was cancelled due the fire.

Nor did the elephant area meet the increasing size standards, and it wasn't the greatest anyways. They opted to phase out and go for something they could care for better and easier. Can't really fault them for doing the best thing for the animals they had.

I agree. Whenever I think about Woodland Park's former elephant section, I find it funny that the area won the AZA Exhibit Award in 1990 even though we can see the exhibit's flaws nowadays. It goes to show how much elephant care standards have changed since those years.

Now this might be a bit exaggerated, but I made this meme due to the state of Woodland Park phasing stuff out:

I think Detroit or Philadelphia would've been better choices for this meme. At least Woodland Park made their departures public, unlike Detroit, who phased out their seals without much fanfare because reasons.
