Hi everyone, just came across this website and thought maybe I would try and get some help. I have volunteered with vervets, macques, baboons, orangutans, sunbears for the past 10 years. I also have an HND in animal management. Whilst I really learned alot from these experiences I now am planning to start a ( well lets call it a private zoo but really a sanctary for primates and sunbears. I find with many volunteer establishments, there are alot of internal politics and as a result the welfare of the animals suffer. I have seen some horrendous things and know I have the capibility of achieving this but I have hit quite a few walls with negative feed back. I know the pitfalls, but I would appreciate some kind of advice from all you kind people. I am from Ireland the land of green and rain.
