July COVID vaccination poll

Waiting for the second Pfizer.
Not going to get vaccinated, I explain why.
1. For my age group only Pfizer is available and I afraid of myocarditis and long-term side-effects, which are unknown yet.
2. Both my parents are fully vaccinated, but they don't want to vaccinate me for similar reason.
3. Covid is less dangerous for me because of my age.
4. And finally, I can defend against Covid with wearing facemask etc. but can't prevent the side effects of the vaccine.
p.s. I'm not an antivaxxer, I think vaccines are generally helpful, although I have some doubts with the safety of Covid vaccines, but especially with the tactic of the vaccination campaign in the world. (In Africa almost no one got even the first jab, but in Europe and in the USA the vaccination of children is planned)

Hungarianbison, you should take the risk of long covid into account. Thats the main reason why we are getting our kids vaccined. A lot of scientists are estimating about 10-15% of Covid patients are having problems many months after the acute infection and that includes those who werent really sick, and children. The risk of myocarditis after Pfizer is so so so much lower and can be treated really well.

Regarding vaccination of children, I am supportive. My main reasons:
In CZ at first not many parents wanted it, but now this percentage is growing. Over 100k Czech children got at least first jab and queues are long (several weeks).
- each vaccinated child decreases probability of school closures next winter
- risk of permanent long-covid (virus targets and damages cells in lungs, veins, brain and reproductive organs)

What do you mean by this?
The difference in vaccination rates in different countries/regions is a matter of money and politics not health How does that affect your decision?

With each vaccinated person the chances of dangerous mutations of the virus is reduced. This is a virus that adapts and changes with some speed.
Yeah, I agree with @HungarianBison that in an ideal world everyone across the world would be being vaccinated in order of vulnerability and it does feel unfair for European teenagers to be vaccinated before an elderly or medically-vulnerable person in southern Africa (say).
But @Zooplantman is right - you not getting vaccinated (or waiting until later) because of this isn't going to help with that unfairness - the doses you'd get are almost certainly already sitting in a local freezer and won't end up anywhere 'more useful' whatever you do (and potentially may end up in the bin if it goes unused), while you sit vulnerable.
I'd like to thank your advices. I thought on them, but this hasn't changed my decision. Everybody should do things in their own terms.

Fully vaccinated with the Vauxhall Astra / Astra Zeneca jabs, had my second brought forwards a bit.
Have a friend with very similar jab dates to me, him and his wife are covid positive now (flu like symptoms) despite there 2 jabs with Pfizer. Caution to still stay sensible.
Good to see so many Zoochatters positive about the vaccine too.

Got last week my second Pfizer-injection and also no side-effects.
I get my second dose of Pfizer next Friday. I'm not looking forward to it to be honest, as I didn't do too well after the first dose and I hear it is usually worse after the second (although admittedly a large part of my reaction was related to stress over the side effects rather than to actual side effects, even if there were some). That said, I am looking forward to being protected as well as possible against this virus, maybe it can help give me a little more piece of mind when going out.
Funnily enough I woke up to a text telling me I can now book my second jab this morning!
How did you manage that already? We're the same bloody age!
