Jungle Animal Roadshow (Amazing Animals)

My local shopping centre had a Jungle Animal Roadshow yesterday and today. The animals were supplied by Amazing Animals and comprised a crested porcupine, raccoon, two ring-tailed lemurs, an African spurred tortoise, two Lyle's flying foxes, a squirrel monkey and some snakes (including a boa). These animals are familiar with events like that so they were completely at ease in front of the public, although the porcupine chose not to come out whilst I was there today. The squirrel monkey climbed on me, which was a real privilege.

There was a lot of interest from the public, which I thought was great as a lot of people don't have the funds to visit animal collections/zoos. There were plenty of members of staff there to answer any questions, so it was a good chance for people to learn about the animals. I'm afraid I did rather monopolise the time of Paradoxurus as he was one of the staff on hand there, but it was great to chat to him, especially as I will be visiting Heythrop for one of the open days next month.

I hope the roadshow returns to the area as it can only do good to educate people about animals :)

I have uploaded a few photos to the United Kingdom - Other gallery, but the quality of them isn't great as the marquee was quite dark.
