when photos costruction ?
I'm very curious
Nothing to photograph at this point, the site is still flat land. Anyway most of the site can't be seen from public areas, so there won't be much if any photos of the construction.
Was told the gentoos were imported as eggs from Ocean Park Hong Kong and hatched at Jurong.
Forgive if this information is in another thread, but have they released any conceptual art or descriptions of what the exhibits and highlights of the new bird park will be? Are they essentially replicating what already exists in the current park?

Jurong came close to getting the eagles some years back and have continued working quietly to negotiate a deal. Fingers crossed.

How large was the original group (info on sex ratios?) when entrusted to Jurong?
The recovered group was 76.33 strong and heavily skewed towards males.
Jurong received at least 10 females.
Updated: 35 males, 25 females.
I assume increase due to breeding successes
An interesting article from the BBC here about Jary, a male great hornbill at Jurong, who has been fitted with a 3D-printed prosthetic casque after much of the original tissue was destroyed by cancer. The prosthesis will remain in place until the new casque grows through.

Jurong now has Black-faced Spoonbills. 2 pairs from Japan are now on display in the wetlands, opposite the Shoebills.
There are also around 10 male Santa Cruz Ground-doves in one of the side aviaries of Wings of Asia.
