Hello everyone, Just joined up, been out of the Zoo loop for a few years and just wanted to see what the scene was like at the moment.
My Names Lee, Im 27 and live on the wirral (the sticky out bit surrounded by Liverpool, Chester and Wales) UK.
I started my Zoo interest visiting the Welsh Mountain Zoo, although Chester Zoo was closer to home, my parents had a caravan in Anglesey and me and my then girlfreind (now wife) would visit the zoo on the way there, we eventually became volunteers and offered our services every sunday.
With this zoology seed planted, we both then attended college to gain Animal Management qualifications.
Then one day I recieved an E-mail from Peter Dickinson (formerly of WMZ) inviting us both for an interview at South Lakes, which we gratefully accepted and then gratefully accepted the job offer.
Unfortunatly the dream job as Zoo keeper wasn't to last, maybe it wasn't to be, Im a factory worker now, with a wife, 2 great kids and a life that zoo keeping could never had afforded.
But still with a dream of owning and running a small zoo, maybe someday.
