The zoo is a famous place amongst bird lovers in Japan.
Although the zoo is located far from large cities like Nagoya and Yokohama, it is easily accesible, since it is only a ten minute walk from the nearby Shinkansen station.
The zoo is full of rare bird species, with many opportunities to feed them in various locations. The zoo hosts three bird shows every day, with different species every time to it is recommended to stay for the whole day.
Here is the species list. The signs are quite accurate, but I might be missing some species. All species were seen, but some were off exhibit due to avian flu.
