'keeper for a day' experiences (UK)

Spot on post Foz!

Has anybody else noticed how much "keeper for the day" prices have rocketed over the last 5 or so years? In 2004, my other half did keeper for a day at Colchester (which was excellent) and it only cost around £70. Nowadays it's £150! Not picking on Colchester in particular as the standard rate at most larger places seems similarly high. At £70 it was an expensive birthday treat, but I think £150 makes most people stand back and consider what alternatives they could spend the money on.

The two theories I've heard for the rapidly increased prices are:

1. Increased paperwork relating to health & safety rules/paranoia;

2. Most effective business practice -selling half the days at twice the price yields more profit as only half the staff time/costs is needed
