Klipspringers in the US

I was wondering if anyone has seen good working mixed exhibits with Klipspringers. We have alot of large areas and we would like to intergrate klipspringers into the exhibits. If anyone has any ideas i would greatly appreciate it.

My thoughts were mixed exibits with Greater kudu, addax, or sitatungas?
 
Remember that Klipspringers are native to kopjes - rocky outcroppings. My favorite mixed species with Klipspringers are exhibits that include them, pancake tortoises, hyrax, mongoose, and ground squirrel. I'm not sure they would do too well with larger ungulates in a plains exhibit. Also, last I heard they were being phased out of the US.
 
We have klipspringers in a kopje exhibit with mongoose. There used to be hyraxes in the exhibit as well, but they got moved. I'm not sure why.
 
I've seen klipspringers at zoos in Chicago (Brookfield & Lincoln Park), San Diego, Memphis, Omaha, DAK, Denver and Jacksonville...and most of those zoos have the tiny antelopes in mixed species exhibits. Rock hyrax, mongooses, squirrels and a variety of bird species are common occupants of such habitats, and the San Diego kopje enclosure is probably the best of the bunch.

DAK opened up with klipspringers on their East Savannah on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Not sure what happened with that though...
 
KLIPSPRINGER ARE NOT BEING PHASED OUT IN NORTH AMERICA.

Jacksonville Zoo also has a Klipspringer in its Giraffe yard with Vultures, Greater Kudu, and Impala(?).
 
At Dallas we have our one of our Klips with Rock Hyrax. Two of ours have about 1 acre to themselves on the monorail. We also have the oldest in the world who's retired now at 23.
 
Jax Zoo has 2 mixed species exhibits with klipspringers.

There is one near the elephant exhibit with amythestine starling, habada ibis, white bellied bustard and either livingstons or violet turaco. The african elephants can also be seen in the back of the exhibit through the mesh so it looks like they are sort of in the exhibit.
The second is the zoo's Giraffe Outlook exhibit. Reticulated giraffes are the main focus but greater kudu females, white backed vultures, saddle bill storks and klipspringers also co-habitat with the giraffes.

Though most of the klipspringers are exhibited with small mammals or birds, its not unheard of for them to be grouped with other species of antelope. At one time, the San Diego Wild Animal Park had Masai klipspringer living in the same enclourse with lowland nyala and bay duiker.

As for your collection goes, I believe that the klipspringers would work the best ecologically with the greater kudu since their both found in the wooded savannas of Africa.

I also think that it would best to add a faux kopje in close proximity of the viewing area so the visitors will be able to see these tiny antelope without straining the eyes throughout the exhibit. Of course, it is important to provide the klipspringers with a private refuge to escape from the public eye and their giant housemates.
