I'd be greatly appreciative if anyone could give any info on why the wolves never seem to be in their foot safari exhibit. Everytime I visit they're on the drive back in their old enclosure where they'd been previously kept (a fenced off pen outside the lion drive through). I remember painted dogs living here before the wolves. Could anyone help me figure out why this is as the foot safari enclosure is relatively new compared to a lot of the park.

I would guess its because so many people complain about the lack of animals(especially carnivores) on the drive through
 
Yeah I hadn't thought of that. It's something that is brought up quite a lot and could be true since I have even seen the tigers on the drive recently too, even after their new enclosure was built. Thanks @Embu :)
 
Does anyone know what will happen to the old african elephant enclosure? The house is still standing so it could either be an extension to the giraffe exhibit or even home to some more rhino's if the park wanted two groups.

So a few years back, there was talk of moving the giraffes, Blesbok & S H Oryx into there(but this was years before COVID) but this may well have changed considering, as we all know, cost of living has affected life. I doubt elephants will ever return(I'd love to be proven wrong) although I feel the enclosure would make a fantastic(with developments to be done) common hippo enclosure, especially if a walkway could be made to walk around the top to look down( a pipe dream I know)
 
Yeah hippos would be a better fit considering there are already rhino's on the safari drive. This would be great for the safaris collection considering there aren't many nearby collections with hippos.

It'd be interesting if this could be a mixed species exhibit with maybe some antelopes and birds to utilise the field space in which the hippos might not use.

I was just reading through last year's thread and I saw that someone had posted about a TV series being be filmed at knowsley by blast films which is the same company that films secret life of the zoo so I hope if there is a new series that it's not replacing secret life of the zoo

The TV show is more based on people visiting the Safari Park, etc. They've been filming for over a year.
There will NOT be any future Secret Life Of The Zoo.
 
Oh ok! Makes sense as they probably wouldn't be able to stretch the park out for a few series in the same way that Chester and Longleat can.
 
Maybe a separate enclosure for the moose who currently live with the bison on the safari drive. This would allow for a relatively unnoticed animal to have it's own enclosure while bringing a new species in with the bison to add to the number of animals on safari. If not maybe some sort of hoofestock or even brown bear in an enclosure similar to the one at Welsh Mountain Zoo. However, I'm not sure this would happen.
