They are fine Pootle - just knocking on a bit - I have a shot of Nora yawning earlier in the year and I swear she only has about 4 teeth left :D

It does look like the heated enclosure is the building in the left as you exit after the lions loop. I think the wolves would be going into the area where the Bongo are now in that nice dark wooded area - but they will need to do some serious fencing down there to make sure they don't a) escape and b) eat the deer & antelope!

Last Saturday I saw some dog poo by their concrete house, so I realised that at least one was still going. They are really old now.

As for the Wolves going in the woody area, I agree it would be ideal for them, but the bongos love it the covering of the trees too, you rarely see a bongo out on the grassland areas, also as you say some impressive fencing needs to go up to prevent the first safari park with prey and predator sharing enclosures :eek:.

I was lucky to see the male Nilgai on Saturday too, I rarely get to see these what with them living in with the baboons. (I like to leave the safari park with my car in the same way I entered it). They must be getting on in years too now, they really are lovely coloured specimens.

As regular visitors will know, our rhinos prefer to spend most of their time in heated housing during the winter months, and with this in mind, we thought the winter time would give us the perfect opportunity to close the section to allow for work on the housing and landscape to continue.

From this weekend, a new winter route has been implemented which bypasses the rhino section where we are currently renovating some of the housing, including adding sand floors for the rhinos and some landscaping of the section.

You can drive the safari drive as many times as you like during our opening times, and at the low winter admission price of just £10 per person.
