Kobe Animal Kingdom Kobe animal kingdom

As mentioned in the Kyoto zoo thread, the kingdom will receive two male bush dogs. Their enclosure seems to be the former fur seal enclosure which then held some penguins. Here are some pictures of the exhibit and the surrounding area shared publicly by a flickr user.

The kingdom also seems to keep green grass lizards and radiated tortoise. There is no official confirmation however.

I don't know if this would count as a mixed exhibit, but the park has found one way to stimulate the skunks by showing them a new environment out of their box without a harness.

The park seems to have added a white naped crane to the "African" Wetlands exhibit. Just like the radiated tortoise (which is kept with cotton top tamarins) and the green grass lizard, the crane isn't introduced on the park's home page nor social media accounts.

The park has finally made an official statement about the new outdoor seal penguin and fur seal enclosure calling it the aqua valley. This raises the question about what will happen to the old seal and indoor penguin enclosures and the name of the current aqua valley. This project is done to comemorate 5th anniversary of the park's conversion from kobe kachoen. The new exhibit will open at July 20.

The park also announced the annual beetle safari.

Bongo the shoebill will be transferred to Nasu for breeding purposes again. Moving him would probably bring things a few steps back though.

Four new skunk kitts are born in the park. Unlike the previous skunk babies. These kitts will remain with their mother.

The new aqua valley is open. The old aqua valley is now a part of the tropical forest exhibit.what will happen to the old seal and indoor penguin enclosure is unknown.
