Helsinki Zoo Korkeasaari Zoo, Helsinki

I saw on Flickr that they have bharals now. Does anyone know where in the zoo their enclosure is and if they replaced anything?

Not at all clear from the photos where they are - the snow covers everything. They are a good addition for the zoo though. I too would like to know where they are kept.

You can find bharals where guanocos were before.
In front of Africasia-House and next to Borealia-House.
Bharals came from Tallinn earlier this year and guanacos moved away.

That map is a bit better, I didn't find this the easiest zoo to navigate, possibly due to the snow as well as the map though.

Do they still have Markhor (I think they were in enclosure 35)?
Look number 12 on map, there's Markhor.

So there is! Thanks for that. Don't know how I missed it. :o So they have moved into the old Guanaco exhibit then, since the Guanaco have left the zoo?

Why did they move the Markhor and not leave them in that excellent exhibit they were in (#35)? Or is this just a temporary move?

Is there still a skunk in exhibit #6?

It's temporary move, their "old" enclosure #35 is under renovation and they will be moving back by fall.
Skunk is in his usual exhibit #6

There's more info on it in the first two posts of this thread. I'm not too keen on it either, it's a bit too superman ice cave for me. I'd prefer the buildings to be less obtrusive drawing on Finnish design heritage and feeling a but more natural and sustainable.

Ah, well if the images are from 2009, and they haven't done anything towards making any of them a reality, then it seems unlikely they will come to fruition now.

Yes, I think I read somewhere something about them taking on elements of the plan but that any development would be over a ten year period. My guess is that the bulk of it won't happen.
