Shame about the bats, I feel lucky to have seen them before they leave now. That does make sense though, I hadn't thought of the possibility of infection from wild bats in the area.
So Zoos Victoria will build a ‘water park’ but phase out 20% of their entire collection in one calendar year. You know how in Greek Mythology there’s the ‘Midas Touch’ where when something is touched it turns into gold? I feel like Zoos Victoria have a ‘reverse Midas Touch’ where everything they touch turns into decaying matter and rot.
Never did I imagine anyone would look at Kyabram Fauna Park’s species list and come to the conclusion they needed to reduce the number of animals.
It’s even more baffling when you consider the site is 55ha (more than double the size of Melbourne Zoo).
