Male Speke's Gazelle born April 27th
4 California Condor chicks hatched in April
The baby Brush-tailed Rat Kangaroo made it's first appearance outside of its mother's pouch on April 18th, though it was born in January
New Arrivals:
2.6 Yellow-footed Rock Wallabies, unrelated to any of the current North American and European populations arrived from Australia, and will greatly add to the genetic diversity of these groups. 1.3 will remain in Los Angeles while 1.3 will be sent to the Palm Beach Zoo in Florida.
A male Red-rumped Agouti arrived in mid-April
A female Chestnut-mandibled Bicolor Toucan
A Mangshan Pit Viper, which will join the other 4 that arrived in September after completing quarantine. Currently off exhibit, they will be displayed after completion of the new reptile facility.
Departures:
One of the Sumatran Tiger cubs was transferred to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo in Indiana
A White-crested Turaco was sent to the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Florida
And a California Condor that had been at the Zoo to receive treatment was returned to the wild
