In addition to their newly built Meerkat exhibit, the zoo has welcomed Gundi to a separate indoor section of the house.

It's been a very long day of driving, but today I brought 3 new animals to the zoo.

0.2 scottish wildcats from Camperdown, and a long awaited pairing of 0.1 cotton-top tamarin from Edinburgh (just in time for international cotton top tamarin day which we're celebrating all weekend!):D

Will they be held in the former red squirrel enclosure?

For the time being, yes. We let them into it this afternoon. After summer, we'll be building their own custom breeding facility so that one day we can get a male and have vicious kittens!:D
Great to hear, been looking forward to their arrival since seeing the notice on the animals board/map :)

Yeah it's been a fairly long time coming, but all the lockdowns just kinda delayed everything. Now it's full steam ahead!:D
Hi Chris, lot of new species in the last 12 months, do you expect more ?

Absolutely, there are plenty of plans. But firstly my main focus is going to be pairing off some of our single sex animals so we can form breeding groups.

In the meantime, we've had great breeding successes with our dart frogs. The young can be seen in our herp station.

I remember going to this place when I was a kid in the 2000's, honestly I forgot it even existed until I saw the name pop up on this forum. Perhaps I'll arrange a visit some day.

It's certainly worth a trip - lots of cool species, and the new developments are fab.

I figured out that I used to care for her parents when they did their quarantine at Banham in the late 90's before they went to what is now called Africa Alive and bore Perdy, and then I was with her in her final days. Mind blowing, eh?:(
