Hello all,
My name is Jonny and I live and work in the UK.
My background is deeply routed with zoos. I studied animal behaviour and welfare at the University of Chester, where I completed my dissertation on the Mandrills there. From 2014-2021 I worked in a couple of zoos in the UK. Hertfordshire Zoo (fka Paradise Wildlife Park) and Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Currently I am employed at the Royal Veterinary College but still have a profound and respect for the zoo industry. So much so that I started my own podcast at the beginning called 'Conservationists Assemble' to discuss the in situ and ex situ conservation efforts for particular species but going forward I would like the podcast to highlight how in situ and ex situ work together, what zoos can and are do to continue improving, and generally talk about things that might not always be discussed in the zoo industry. I want the podcast to have a proper community feel.
