Bioparc Valencia latest visit to the bioparc

Many coloured fishes are now visible with the hippos at the Kitum cave.I don´t known the species.

Please go on keeping us posted with any new information on this very interesting zoo in Spain, KEEPER!

Also, as many new pictures as possible posted in the gallery would be much appreciated!

Yesterday I finally saw the black-backed jackals in the exhibition "Life in the Sabana" in Bioparc. They are very fast...but I could make some pictures :) see the gallery.

The co-housing of western lowland gorilla, mangabey and hamlyn-monkey at the Bioparc Valencia failed, so the Bioparc is going to abandon keeping hamlyn-monkeys (Cercopithecus hamlyni).

I hope you're wrong, because I love this species and I would contemplate on Bioparc follow, but long ago I don't see...

Do you know why it failed? Has a Monkey been killed?

A female hamlyn-monkey died, but I do not know how.

I do not know why it failed, but have a look at the outdoor enclosure, it will answer many questions....

mmm.... I registered my concern previously about these rare Monkeys in one of the Gallery threads on the Valencia Bioparc.

If they are discontinuing it, it seems this loss may have been related to the 'mixed' nature of the exhibit (but I cannot say for sure).

I do think it was entirely wrong for them to have such a rare species in such an open exhibit, or mixed with more powerful species.:(

^^
I'm not 100% sure, but I think no any owl face in Bioparc died, (I ever seen one male and one female) when I saw them (more than 10-15 times) they never have had any problems with the gorillas.

I think the information about the died of any animal it's wrong.

In another zoo forum the death of a gorilla in Valencia was mentioned. I think it's the female Dorle. Does any of the Spanish zoo friends now anything? Thanks for some information!
