New species at Gondwanaland:

- Greenhouse frogs
- Chinese water dragons
- Greater Madagascar day geckos

Births expected during the next 3 months:
- bonobo ("Lexi" is pregnant), Baringo giraffe

Spotted hyena female "Lubanga" was sterilized. She raised 13 pups successfully from 2004 to 2011.

- Black-spotted rock frogs (the zoo received 250 rock frogs from Vienna)
- different species of Tree Frogs
 
¿Where all of this species of anfibians and reptiles being kept? Because i only saw 3 or 4 small terrariums in Gondwanaland. Thank you

The amphibians, reptilies, several species of birds, invertebrate and Malayan flying foxes are free.
 
Baringo giraffe female "Emma" (born at Emmen Zoo in 2002) and her unborn calf died under birth.
 
A White-faced saki monkey was born and six Fulvous whistling ducks hatched at Gondwanaland.
 
Plans concerning construction project 2013 have been published.

Amur leopard exhibit:
- building site: beside the Amur tiger exhibit, vis-à-vis the Australia enclosure
- 2 public outdoor exhibits, 200 m² each, overstretched with a steel net
- 1 rearward outdoor exhibit
- 6 indoor cages as part of a house with an area of 260 m²

Waterfowl breeding station:
- building site: between the elephant bull stable and Gondwanaland quarantine building
- different indoor aviaries (massive type of construction) for quarantine purpose
- different aviaries including outdoor cages (lightweight mode of construction) for breeding groups
 
This month Leipzig Zoo adopted the entire funding body of the Cuc Phuong National Park at Vietnam. They are going to invest 100.000 Euro every year to guard the unique flora and fauna, to educate rangers and to reintroduce injured primates, kept at the Primate Rescue Centre, to the wild.

A pair of Palm cockatoos and 4 Red-eyed Tree Frogs arrived from Tiergarten Nuremberg.
 
Indian sloth bear male BODO, born at Leipzig in 2009, CLAUS x LUDMILLA, was shipped to Chemnitz.
 
Two Red kangaroos were born.

The last two Spectacled Bears left the old Bear-Castle and have been moved to the quarantine building.
