The zoo is building two small islands for marmosets, unfortunately not a spider-monkey exhibit.

Female Baringo giraffe born to MAX (19) and ASHANTI (13), the third calf born this year.

The opening of the exit/flamingo-aviary will take place next week as scheduled.

Oh, then it's my German that is pretty damn bad - I read "Krallenaffe" on the sign and was sure it meant "spider monkey", but apparently not. Thanks for the correction.

Spider monkeys were my favourite species for the new enclosure, unfortunately the zoo decided to built a further marmoset exhibit.

Nepalese red panda female LILO gave birth to a single pup.

New walkable flamingo aviary opened today (1500 m², 10 meters high). First occupants are:
- White-faced whistling ducks
- Rosy-billed pochards

Chilean flamingo, Scarlet ibis, Black-faced ibis, Roseate spoonbill and other kind of waterfowl will follow during the next weeks.

European roe deers left the zoo.

Eastern black rhinoceros SARAFINE, Malayan tapir LAILA and okapi ZAWADI due to give birth in fall, Indian elephant HOA next year in spring.

Elephant cows THURA (* 1974) and RANI (*2009 at Hagenbecks Tierpark, HUSSEIN x THURA) arrived from Hamburg yesterday evening.

Several Western dwarf crocodiles hatched at the terrarium, the first offspring of a new arranged brace consisting of the old breeding female (at the zoo since 1971) and a young male from Helsingborg, that arrived two years ago.
