This website for the Lemur Conservation Network is great for anything related to lemur conservation and so I thought I'd share it with zoochatters

The Lemur Conservation Network is a project of the Madagascar section of the IUCN SSC Primate specialist group.

The site has information on species, information on species in-situ and ex-situ, interviews with experts in the field, material for educators and students and lots more.

If you like lemurs and are passionate about their conservation you are even invited to write and submit a post for their blog.

No problem @Dassie rat !

The wording is a bit loosely vaguely defined isn't it ? Of course they don't count for a "group" as such as primates are just an order of placental mammals.

However, I do think the Lemuroidea probably could be called the world's most endangered mammal superfamilies, yes, as the IUCN estimates 95 % of lemur species as threatened.

But then again there are a lot of families that we just do not have enough reliable data on and rodents and bats are another grey area.

You have been to Madagascar and seen lemurs at a critical time in their conservation and I'm sure they would be interested in this.

Do you know if it is possible to do Lemur research remotely through webcams? What are the pros and cons?
