Lemur Lookout

Does anyone know if the status of the lemur has changed any. The last time I spoke with a keeper, some kind of war was going on in Madagascar that was making things dire for the little critters. It's so disheartening. They look so cute and innocent. Yet people are destroying them.

which lemur there are 40+ species and some are doing better than others. In general the political instability in Madagascar has not helped them, true.

I didn't know there were so many. The only ones I'm familiar with are the ringtail, black and white ruffed, and brown ruffed.
