I was surprised there was no thread for Leofoo Zoo animal news. Time to create one!

On the back of the news that Leofoo is to send a female white rhino in animal exchange to Japan for the zoo in Tobu on breeding loan, I would like to draw attention to the bigger news. The Leofoo Zoo has managed to create a breeding population of white rhino of 23 individuals. All the more impressive since they started with just 8 rhino imported from the wild in 1979!

I just mentioned in the other thread regarding Leofoo rhinos, there were reportedly ten exported from the United States to Taiwan in June 1979 but one died in San Pedro on the ship. I am looking for information on the six elephants, two males and four females, that were also part of the shipment by the International Animal Exchange.
