On the subject of albino animals, I wonder if anybody can shed any light on the following:-

I recall seeing an albino penguin at Cologne Zoo, on about half-a-dozen occasions, during the 1980s. It was definitely a species of Spheniscus although the lack of markings made it very hard to identify the species.

One zoo keeper confidently informed me that it was a black-footed penguin X Humboldt’s penguin hybrid; another keeper, equally positive, asserted that it was definitely a Magellanic penguin.

Does anybody know for sure what species it was ?

i own or have owned albino animals of the following species

burmese python
reticulated python
cornsnake
kingsnake

my housemate owns an albino ball python and albino leopard gecko

firsthand i have seen many other albino reptiles, including blood pythons, rattlesnakes, cobras, boa constrictor, fat-tailed geckos, black rat snake, bull snake.
also a leucistic texas rat snake and ball pythons

i have also seen white peacocks, white lions (forgive me if i'm wrong, are they leucistic?) white rabbits (scraping the bottom of the barrel here... lol)

EDIT: forgot to mention several types of small mammal (mouse, rat hamster, guinea-pig) fish and bird at pet shops but haven't a hope of remembering most of their names

Some of the Animals i have Seen

Corydora Catfish (Probably an Emerald): My Local Fish Store
Tiger Barb: Pet Store then my 20 gallon Tank

Leopard Gecko: At a Petco

American Alligator: Jenkinson's Aquarium

Indian Peafowl: Popcorn Park Zoo, Six Flags Great Adventure

Tiger: Multiple

African Lion: Toronto Zoo

Houston Zoo has a leucistic alligator. Gladys Porter Zoo, white tigers. Minnesota Zoo had some kind of leucistic bird of prey, but I can't remember the species.

Leucistic......

A high proportion of most animals in the pet trade (snakes and lizards as well as birds, mammals and fish) have pale colour morphs, as do an increasing number of waterfowl.

Black Mangabey (Leucistic morph known as Cinnamon Mangabey and occurs in the wild)
