Life of Pi

I just finished the book (never watched the movie) and I wasn't really impressed. I liked the part about the zoos, but when it came to the part where he's actually on the boat, it just seemed like...far too little happened. It was kind of boring to be honest. I think I was let down because everyone told me I would love it so I was expecting something to blow me away, and nothing really did. I mean, it was good but it wasn't exceptional in my mind.

I watched the movie, and imo the story was pretty boring, so the film also wasn't that inspiring. The special effects were very good, but it felt a bit like a waste of time, because we could have watched a better film.

I caught this movie over the weekend mainly because my wife had seen it in the cinema months ago and loved it. I had been dodging the bullet for months, but finally I got forced to watch it.

I didn't enjoy it folks, sorry to say. It's a really wonderful story with fantastic CGI, but sad dramas just aint my bag, baby. I felt like I was watching a big-budget movie on the Lifetime Channel.

By the way, did anyone realise that the actress who played Pi's mother is named 'Tabu'? It's not the kind of name that I would associate with a melodrama...

Anyway, I digress. The movie was a great movie - if you enjoy this genre of films. I don't, so I must give it a rating of no more than 6/10.

I guess this belongs in this thread. I liked 2.04 the best :D

I finally saw the movie last night. I really loved it. It's a beautiful tale. I actually enjoyed the slow pacing.
