Just thought I would post this as curious as to what fellow zoochatters think.

YouTube - ‪Lioness tries to eat baby at the zoo.‬‏

Taken from the Colorado Springs Gazette.

The lioness even looks like she's trying to eat the child through a glass wall.

The boy's father filmed the entire encounter.

"I was definitely intimidated and a little, you know, it just seems like natural mother instinct to kind of want to pull him out of there, but he seemed to be having fun," said the toddler's mom, Catherine Higley.

Your thoughts please.

I honestly think big cats have a thing for little children. And I think it's because of their size and they think they can eat the children. I know when I went to the Buffalo Zoo this fall with my toddler niece, the snow leopard cubs kept chasing her around and trying to get her through the glass. I've also seen tigers chase toddlers as well.

My photography mad sister and brother-in-law try to photograph big cats when there are small children around, as they'll get better shots. :)
