Noah's Ark Zoo Farm Lions and Tigers

Aren't Noah's creationists? If so, it could be argued that they are misleading the public anyway...

lol, I would love someone to start up that conversation with someone at the park!

Regarding Tigers:

Am all for them having "hybrids" free's up space for pure animals, and hopefully gives them the experience to become active members in the breeding program in say ten years time.

What's annoying is that they are openly going to breed their "Bengal" hybrids, so they're not freeing up space.
And I did think that about them joining up, but it would cause too much crap with creationism vs. evolution etc, although I think they believe that creationism created evolution, so at least it's not completely misleading everyone.

One big advantage Bristol Zoo has is that Noah's Ark is closed on Sundays !

If they are going to deliberately breed them at Noah's Ark, shouldn't the zoos/parks from where they are getting the tigers send them snipped male to prevent this happening? Otherwise they'd be putting their own breeding programmes at risk (although I gather that some some places might not care).

Have they even thought about where the tiger cubs would go if they did breed their tigers? No-one half decent zoo/park would take them on, and Noah's Ark would have to spend more money building facilities to hold these surplus cats.

Well the enclosure they're building splits into about 5 seperate enclosures, but I'm almost certain it said they're going to breed from their "Bengal" tigers. Why not breed from the Amurs or just keep them as display animals, and after getting some experience with them get a pure subspecies and breed them instead?

If they are planning to breed them once and keep them for experience then why not, but if there breeding them and wanting to ship cubs out then its a not a great idea.

Hopefully they plan to keep young produced and then once all have passed away, they can then participate in the breeding programme.

Yes they do plan to breed from the Hybrid Bengals, but they also plan to breed from the Zebras which i believe are also 2 different sub-species they were also i believe offered the chance to have a group of all 1 type of Zebra but turned it down, luckily the male so far seems to be firing blanks.

These people are idiots, how do they get away with it? If London were to do this studbook keepers and god knows who else would be at their throats! And they claim to believe in creationism, but also in the fact that god created the big bang and that, whilst all the time trying to prove there's no way humans evolved from apes. I tell you...

Very few of the animals at Noahs Ark are part of studbooks - many of them have been bought as private transactions. It looks like the Tigers will be arriving under the same circumstances...

This "zoo" seems so pointless, I don't even find it that entertaining which is what a smaller, private collection like this normally focusses on.

I have just had a look back at previous threads on Noah's Ark and have a number of questions .

Anyone know what happened to the baby siamang born last September and taken for hand-rearing , no sign of it or anything about it on my recent visit .

I saw no sign of the grey kangaroos that supposedly arrived from Chester last October .

Am I right in thinking their zebra stallion is Chapman's and the two mares Grant's . The mares were supposedly pregnant when they arrived last year but no sign of any foals being born .

I didn't know they bred the Gibbons, did it NEED hand rearing or did they just take it? Wouldn't surprise me if the latter was the case.
