I was just wondering where South Lakes got their lions from, another UK collection?, and also, are they a breeding group or an over-represented or related group?

When I was there a couple of years ago, it stated on signs around the enclsure that they were a breeding group, however if I remember rightly the male was quite young.

On were they came from I dont know.

I think the male and two of the females came from West Midlands Safari Park and the other female was saved from a French circus and placed at South Lakes.

the male is shikar and the female's tasa and chevelle

When I visited South Lakes in May this year, there was a third female, called Komala (see attached infoboard).

I was there today and there was a male and 2 females. One of the females is in season and I seen the male mate with her a few times.
