The Long Island Aquarium is a 3.2-acre facility located in Riverhead, New York. Species at the facility include Atlantic harbor seal, Japanese macaque, white-nosed coati, Pallas's long-tongued bat, green aracari, African penguin, barred owl, mangrove monitor, green tree python, East African black mud turtle, Santa Isabel dart frog, African lungfish, sand tiger shark, Queensland grouper, electric eel, Japanese spider crab, and bullet ant, among other animals.

On February 15th, it was announced that the aquarium transferred a (1.0) harbor seal named Javier to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center in Virginia.

On March 14th, it was reported that the aquarium opened a new 60-foot treehouse called "The Eye Opener" to the public.

On March 16th, the aquarium announced that due to avian influenza, their penguins were moved to their inside exhibit for the time being. Penguin Encounters were suspended as well but were brought back in June.

On May 8th, the aquarium announced that (0.0.3) African penguins hatched in late February-early March.

On June 1st, the aquarium announced that a (1.0) Japanese macaque named Jorako passed away at age 25 on May 28th.

On September 1st, it was reported that the aquarium will acquire (0.0.25+?) koi from the Sunrise Mall in New York in October.

On September 30th, the aquarium announced they acquired a (0.0.1) giant Pacific octopus named Maple which is now on exhibit.

On May 19th, the aquarium announced they acquired a (1.0) African penguin named Tux from the Ross Park Zoo in New York. The zoo also announced they transferred a (1.0) African penguin named Moose to the Ross Park Zoo.

On May 26th, the aquarium announced that a (0.1) North American river otter named Jelly passed away on May 24th due to renal failure.

On June 23rd, the aquarium announced they moved their African penguins back on exhibit due to lower cases of avian influenza.

On August 6th, the aquarium announced that they acquired a (0.0.1) giant Pacific octopus named Cherry and a (0.0.1) common octopus named Piper which are now on exhibit.

On September 29th, the aquarium announced that they acquired a (0.1) North American river otter named Flo from the Lowcountry Zoo at Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina which is now on exhibit.

On May 17th, the aquarium announced that they transferred (1.0.1) African penguins named Marvin and Squid to the Tanganyika Wildlife Park in Kansas, as well as an African penguin named Ginger to the Gulfnarium Marine Adventure Park in Florida in autumn 2023. The aquarium also announced that they acquired 2 African penguins named Dorothy and Toto from Tanganyika Wildlife Park in autumn 2023.
