Longleat Safari & Adventure Park Longleat Safari Park 2024

I don't want to be a partypooper, but that is hardly the case. yes 4 cubs is a welcome addition to the breeding program, but tiger breeding in European main zoos is very tightly controlled with very clear instructions which pairs can breed and how often. The captive Siberian tiger population is quite sizable and if births wouldn't be controlled there would be a huge surplus...

Can see your point on that. Though given both Red and Yana were found to be a good match for breeding, then hopefully that means these 4 could be able to find a good match when they grow up?

I know there's always things that can wrong, just trying to be optimistic for the future.

Does anyone have any updates from wolf wood, I dont recall anything significant announcements after the new male arrived?

VISIT REPORT- JULY 26, 2024
- I saw a Baby Dik dik today in Jungle Kingdom
- A new kookaburra has arrived if my memory serves correctly I thought there was just one
- if anybody is interested, the Baby Fennec foxes are In the Koala Creek Care Room but it is only a narrow gap in curtains you can see them from.

Hi All,
I'm not sure if anyone would know the answer to my question, but the north American porcupine windows have been blocked up, Could they Be ill, Or moving zoos possibly?

On Longleat's Instagram page there's a post about 'meet the stars of the park' with images of various animals they have, but also of a nine-banded armadillo. Does anyone know if they have this species?

They do, but are currently held off show but feature in the stars of the park event. The species arrived earlier this year and previously were in the Steve Backshall show.

A couple of notes from yesterday's visit:
The windows in the koala creek care room have opened so you can see the fennec fox babies, and they are signed.

The spurred tortoise who used to be in African Village are now behind the windows in the meerkat walkthrough. They moved because their former enclosure is now off show housing for the painted dogs who arrived earlier this year.

I visited today and it was soooo lovely, so many improvements since i last visited (2021)

Kudos to longleat it looks amazing and such good things for neurodivergent visitors

Just one note, how many koala are there now in total?

The new series of Animal Park (10 episodes) will start on Monday 12th August.

So down from the usual 15 episodes then. Could be an improvement as some recent series have included a lot of “filler.”

On a separate note, when did the park phase out their Dromedary? I remember them in the mid-1990s mixed with the Bactrian camel

Quick Report note from today's visit:

- I saw one baby Cotton top tamarin, And as Far as I'm aware Longleat hasn't updated their socials so Idk what sex it is. However as another note, the young fennec foxes are both female.

I got so sick of incessant "filler" nearly gave up on watching the series. So recorded it and then used the fast forward button, alot!
