I agree about the beavers, as much as its lovely to see, I think they should focus more on the animals we can actually see. Weve hardly seen anything of Truffles and I thought she would feature loads this season.

I agree about the beavers, as much as its lovely to see, I think they should focus more on the animals we can actually see. Weve hardly seen anything of Truffles and I thought she would feature loads this season.
If they’re not breeding the lions, or unless there’s an unexpected punch-up, I suppose there’s only limited coverage you can give them, ie enrichment.
It’s good that Animal Park is spreading its coverage beyond the animals within the park, though maybe it’s time they expanded to similar articles when it was Lion Country

I love the beaver coverage personally! I'm not usually that fussed on programmes that devote time to trying to find animals rather than actually seeing them, but I'm completely in on the beaver story and seeing one swimming in Half Mile Lake and Hamza's reaction to it really made me feel quite emotional.
As for the lack of lions this series, as others have said there probably isn't much to show of interest. Personally I'm enjoying the variety of animals featured.
How is everyone enjoying Animal Park this summer ?
On the 5th, 6th and 7th October which is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I'm returning to Longleat and this will be the first time since Covid when I was not able to do so

I'm really enjoying the series so far but the only part that made me tear up was eliska's death and seeing the pack reacting to her death when they put her body in wolf wood
Saw Animal Park this morning and that was Brave the Kangaroo. You'll find that he's a Western Grey Kangaroo and by the way he was fron Edinbrugh Zoo in Scotland
After watching today's episode of Animal Park... do you think the male wolf in question is Django? If so that would be absolutely tragic, that wolf pack has had some horrendous luck of late.

My mums just spoken to Caleb at longleat and Django has gone, he had kidney stones they removed then he somehow broke his leg

Well I had my first visit to the park on Monday and it was one of the best zoos/safaris I have been too. I was extremely lucky and the only animal that was a no show was the tapir. After watching animal park religiously I was surprised at some of the enclosure sizes because they were smaller than they looked but they were all still sufficient. Highlights of the day were definitely the tigers and the jungle cruise. One thing to note is that I thought there were 5 gorilla's but now there are 4 the one missing was Ivindi. I'm guessing he has moved on because after watching animal park they said he was beginning to battle kesjo for dominance

In fairness there is no guarantee that his death will be covered in this series, it may have happened after they finished filming it. This forum is for discussing developments in UK zoos and animal collections, so I'd say its fair enough to discuss the death of an animal even if it is the subject of a TV programme. Personally I'd rather be warned in advance anyway - Eliska's death was quite emotional enough when I knew what was coming!

Oh god I feel like this has been the most horrendous year for the wolf pack to lose the alpha pair Is horrendous I wonder what the packs future is now
The whole Alpha pair business is a misnomer. Even the scientist who posited the theory later debunked it.
Wolves simply live in family groups. If the parents have died, the most dominant children will take over.
This may cause internal strife and expulsions, and may require new unrelated females to be introduced to avoid inbreeding.
However this is entirely natural and part of how a group bonds.
It may seem traumatic to human eyes, but wolves are creatures of instinct not emotion, and they will follow their inbuilt genetics.
If nothing else, it is potentially a very interesting time to study them for behavoralists.
