They did originally 0:1 (Minnie I think it was called?) Then they brought in a second female but both have since died & their enclosure has been removed and incorporated back into the African section I believe

Any cause of death known, was it just old age?

Correct, Minnie was transferred from Whipsnade where she had produced a number of offspring (of which I don’t know if any are still in the UK)

I don’t know if Longleat had any long term ambitions with the moose, it certainly was never elaborated upon any further than on Animal Park. A shame really, bar the odd exception, the species just doesn’t seem to do well in the long term in UK collections

Those with long memories will tell you this was the series original time slot (maybe roughly 2:10, after Neighbours) before it got recommissioned a few years ago!:p

Interesting info regarding episode 3
"Kate & Ben say goodbye to a Longleat Legend"

presumably they're talking about Soundari the Amur tiger?

Apparently(it's over 15yrs since my last visit) a section of the African reserve was fenced off for the elk then when they've died out it's been taken down and back into the African section, from what I've heard

@zoosafari123 In a small aviary behind koala creek and the little explorers playground. As it not (yet) open to the public, it is only visible behind the little explorers fence or a small whole through a door next to the bridge at koala creek.

Zootierliste lists Laughing Kookaburra with the phrase 'se it 2023' below. Does anyone happen to know the meaning of this?

Yes, I remember. Back when they used to go into the house aswell and Lord Bath kept popping up with his dovs

Just a heads up - Animal Park starts at 2:30pm tomorrow; a later time than has been billed in some places due to the women's football. It sounds like the first episode will cover Rusty the tiger's departure for Blackpool Zoo.
