Must have been walking round in my normal daze for going round a bird garden then,do seem to rember you saying how unusual it was.Writhedhornbill - Your cracid photo is a Spix's Guan.
zoogiraffe - you did see Pauxi unicornis at Lotherton - or at least you were stood next to me when I was looking at them! They had Northern and Southern Helmeted Curassows in adjacent aviaries.

1:0 Brazilian Tapir has arrived. He is called 'Arthur'.
I went to this collection just before Xmas.
Saw loads of birds who I had never seen before. Only needed about 45 minutes to walk round it all but for £6 to enter it was good value for money and I also enjoyed watching the Deer in the Deer Park.
How long have they been charging for entrance? I'm sure it used to be free to enter with the only charge for parking.
Saw at least 6 of these the other day. What I haven't seen mentioned though or on ZTL is that they now have 5 rock hyrax ( probably non sub-specific).Lotherton now has 6 Chacoan Mara from Prague zoo.
