Must have been walking round in my normal daze for going round a bird garden then,do seem to rember you saying how unusual it was.
That was my first thought before I changed my mind. So, sorry Hornbill, I'll go with Robmv now and say it is not the chacalaca, it is the guan. Did you get your 'thrush' identified?

I've known about this for a while, the full plans for Lotherton Hall (and other Leeds City Council owned attractions) are attached below*. It certainly sounds interesting, I hope it doesn't take the 'soul' out of the collection!

1:0 Brazilian Tapir has arrived. He is called 'Arthur'.
Also seven Humboldt Penguins from Newquay Zoo a couple of weeks ago. The new area is opening on 21 November.

I went to this collection just before Xmas.
They have a massive Penguin exhibit which is most impressive. They have Tapir's and Capybara and they are building a walk through Flamingo exhibit. They are also building a Marmoset and Red Panda exhibit over the next year.
Saw loads of birds who I had never seen before. Only needed about 45 minutes to walk round it all but for £6 to enter it was good value for money and I also enjoyed watching the Deer in the Deer Park.
I look forward to going back when the 3 new exhibits are finished.

How long have they been charging for entrance? I'm sure it used to be free to enter with the only charge for parking.
An adult day ticket will cost £7.50 from January 1 2018. A child’s ticket will rise by £0.75 to £3.75.

It's to enter the whole facility not the wildlife park. You pay £6 as you drive in, includes entry to the house, parking and everything.
Made my first visit for at least five years. Arthur the tapir the main show never seen a tapil move so fast or try climbing a tree put loads of fences around the the the tree stalks but he's getting above them. Warty pigs have a big pen available under the tunnel when they open into the wild garlic field. Not much land to expand Into the traditional bird park but loads of room in the deer park fields. New deer hut doesn't even look over the deer field if Leeds city council ever wanted to move into rhinos massive fields await. The remaining condor still remains that I was told was moving too south lakes zoo is still there some time later. Feel like they could attract bigger crowds if they did a regular penguin feed/talk and a tapir capybara talk/feed . Funny tapir knows how to close gate if he wants house too himself slamming gate close
First and due to location maybe only visit, but great place to visit for £7.50.
New Penguins enclosure easily in top 10 I've seen in UK, new Flamingo, Tapir / capybara, Warty pig enclosures good too. Condor enclosure like you would expect in Tierpark Berlin !! Loads of other smaller species too! Excellent value
