Lotherton Hall Lotherton hall

Lotherton used to have a very strong bird collection (and still does have some species of great importance particularly Angus the Pauxi unicornis) as it was initially a bird garden tied to the large house. Over the years they have acquired some larger and mammalian species but it wouldn't be surprising at all that they have acquired Moustached laughingthrush

On 24th October a mob of 6 Wallabies ( don't know what species) arrived from Yorkshire Wildlife Park, all females

They would have to be at least partly Red-necked Wallabies - YWP only has those and a small number of Swamp Wallabies but I don't think they had six of them to send - would guess they are all Red-necks. :)

7 Inca Terns and 2 Waldrapp Ibis have escaped their aviary due to extensive damage caused by heavy snow ,last weekend. So far, 3 Inca Tern and 1 Waldrapp Ibis have been recovered. The others have been sighted in Bardsey and Wetherby.
