In some very unexpected, but super exciting news, the Louisville Zoo is getting 2 koalas! They will be coming in June from the San Diego Zoo. They recently moved their red panda to the former jaguar exhibit. This will make room for the 2 koalas to be moved to the former red panda exhibit. Im interested to see how they make 2 "bachelor" spaces with the former exhibit. It mentions that the koalas will have separate spaces. The former red panda exhibit did not have an outdoor yard and could only be viewed through glass.
G’DAY Y’ALL

Is Louiville a decent zoo to visit in the winter and is there winter viewing available for the elephants? What species are off-display in winter? I was hoping to plan a summer trip but it's been delayed, but I do want to go before the elephants leave the facility.

I've only ever been in the winter and had a great time. Likely its changed since then, but the elephant house did have a big glass viewer to see inside.
