Dalila

'Dalila' is one of those females who show what can be done with judicious transfers of animals. Her early years were spent in a regulation barred cage at Copenhagen growing up with her partner 'Samson' but of course, they were platonic having been reared together, so didn't breed. It was sensible (and generous) of Copenhagen to let them both go to seperate and better homes- Dalila to Apenhuel, and Samson to head the newly -formed group at Givskud. Both have been very successful breeders since.

Female, Changa Maidi at Munster is expected to have her third baby in March

The 12 weeks YO baby male of Bioparc Valencia has been named 'Ebo' like the Forest Reserve in Cameroon.

Ujiji (Port Lympne Wild Animal Park) was moved in December 2012 to Seoul Grand Park Zoo (Republic of Korea).

Prsumably Seoul have got/are getting other Gorillas from another source, to attempt to place with him? I wonder if males or females. They surely haven't sent him there to live solitary?

GorillasGalore website lists recent births in the UK at Twycross (mother Ozala) as male and Blackpool (mother Njema) as female.

Ma Yah (Givskud Zoo) died on May 29th 2012 due to a high amount of coliform bacteria in the blood.

Amani (Givskud Zoo) died on June 4th 2012 due to a high amount of coliform bacteria in the blood.

Beauval

After the recent small "baby boom" in European zoos, here's another birth, on January 20 in Beauval, France to Inge and silverback Asato. - Info courtesy of Jane Dewar.

Louna (Leipzig Zoo) was moved today, January 30th 2013, to Tiergarten Stadt Nürnberg due to problems with silverback Abeeku.

It says there is a female baby in the group, but the baby 'Viking' born in 2009 was previously listed as male and Jim Davis S/B still lists it as male.

It also says this is only the 2nd birth there, but a baby was born(and died) to the same parents as Viking the previous year(2008) so this really is the third birth.

Maybe 'Viking' was later discovered to be female?
