It is not yet known which male they will housed together with.
This would be Nasibu, no? He will be arriving at Pairi Daiza in April to serve as a breeding male.

Both Nasibu and Sango, the silverback already there, are well represented genetically. I believe that Sango has now been integrated with the two younger males which lived with Lomako until he left to go to Gaia Park, so presume Nasibu will still be the one to join with the females. This would be Nasibu, no? It will probably be him indeed. But it has not yet been confirmed by Pairi Daiza. This would be Nasibu, no? He will be arriving at Pairi Daiza in April to serve as a breeding male.

Yes, I got the wrong 'S', Shomari not Sango as I posted.Sango lives in Berlin Zoo, you’re thinking of Shomari. And yeah, Nasibu is quite well represented. He was supposed to go to Orana (New Zealand) but it was cancelled because of countless delays.
An interesting coincidence here is that Nasibu is actually the uncle of Shomari (and the late Dayo). Father Akili is a full brother of Nasibu (Rebecca x Matze).
I know a collection in Mexico that would benefit from having a silverback male. The zoo in Guadalajara with to bachelor females Faustina and Chencha. They have bred here before. EEP send a male to Jalisco unrepresented animals in captive program.Sango lives in Berlin Zoo, you’re thinking of Shomari. And yeah, Nasibu is quite well represented. For goodness sakes' what a politically correct stance for not breeding and expanding the gene pool. As if the gorilla is to blame ...Guadalajara is part of SSP, but Chenca was illegally imported, so SSP doesn't allow them to breed.
Females Gasira from Cologne Zoo and Uzuri from Zoo Duisburg arrived at Pairi Daiza on the 24th of February. Introductions went well.

Nasibu, who was originally scheduled to be sent to New Zealand, will apparently join them in the coming months.
Nasibu is genetically very very overrepresented. He has lots of brothers with many offspring, many of his nephews are castrated. Why oh why is he selected as a breeding male? All his future sons will most likely be castrated as well.
Because they badly need to move him and don't know what else to do with him? There is currently no new bachelor group he could be fitted in to. I agree it seems a very strange choice from a genetic point of view, but sometimes other factors seem to take priority, as seems to be the case here.
@Pertinax could a new group of Bachlour Gorillas be set up. I think Nasibu could be the Silverback and the other males could be M'bula and M'wana from Chessington,Lope and Shufai from Twycross,Gernot from London,Ikebe from Howeletts and Bakku from Belfast. These are only the Young Males from Great Britain who could form a bachelor group. If this number of Blackbacks is too much for one location they could be spread between Longleat Safari Park,Paington Zoo and Port Lympne. Even Twycross could form a Bachelor group in the original Gorilla House. As far as I am aware this building is vacant as only one Gorilla House is inhabited at Twycross
They could, although Nasibu is already being moved into a breeding troop at Loro Parque.
That's 6 suggested males there. Splitting them at least into 2 groups would work much better. All of those zoos too that you mention already have existing bachelor groups. Twycross do not have the space for a further bachelor group alongside their breeding troop.
Don't quite follow you here. Is that Rotterdam Nasibu (as he moved to Pairi Daizi) or another by the same name? I agree it is a bit puzzling that despite his inbreeding coefficient he is given a breeding recommendation. They could, although Nasibu is already being moved into a breeding troop at Loro Parque.

@The Hedgehog stated that Nasibu from Rotterdam should join a new bachelor group. .
