On a total side note from the current discussion: does anyone know anything about the elephant breeding program? I've been waiting for news since Sdudla came back in 2010... No news. Has anyone heard or noticed anything?
Apparantely, a baby Chimp named Reuben arrived at the zoo recently.
A new Koala will arrive at the zoo tomorrow. This means that the renovated Koala enclosure is now done, and I'm very interested if they created an outdoor feature of the exhibit.
The new exhibit will open soon with the addition of a new koala tomorrow.
Budaru, a male Queensland Koala from San Diego Zoo, has arrived at Lowry Park and is in quarantine.
Stingray Bay, the area where guests can pet Stingrays, is open after refurbishment.
After looking at some photos, it seems indeed Lowry has opened a new outdoor Koala exhibit as well, which I'm very pleased with. Let's just hope the outdoor exhibit is okay.

The macaw free-flight experience is coming soon. The birds are in training each morning.

The zoo recently named the male Babirusa "Malik", meaning "king." He is the first Babirusa to be born in the zoo's history.
Reuben, an orphaned chimp who came to the zoo, is being introduced to the adults gradually.
Two Red-Legged Seriema chicks hatched recently.
Jahi, the male Indian Rhino calf, turned 1 year old yesterday.

I'm wondering when they are going to have success from their breeding program. Mbali and Matjeka aren't getting any younger....
It seems Lowland Nyala have been added to Safari Africa according to snowleopard's review.
You got our Kudu I want them back haha
It seems Aldabra Tortoises were added to the Safari Ride in Safari Africa.
