A new breeding pair of African Wild Dogs are now being exhibited in the Ituri Forest section of Safari Africa at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo! These two will lead a pack which will probably be formed by them and their offspring (and maybe others)!

A new species to the zoo, African painted dogs. They are in the former cheetah exhibit that has been empty for about a year.

Funny enough, back when they had just built the Discovery Center they had renderings of future expansions and the rendering had the name of Zoo Tampa or Tampa Zoo on them instead of LPZ. This was in the mid 90s I suppose, probably just a coincidence.
The remodel of the Florida area will be good, most of that has not had much done since it opened in the early 90s.
