Lubin zoo is located in city park of Lubin, a town 50km west of Wroclaw. It has 14 hectares and shows local Polish wildlife like wisents or birds and domestic Polish breeds. It opened in 2014 and is free of charge. Its attendance was 562.448 in year 2023.

The zoo received a pair of golden eagles from zoo Wroclaw. The female was born in zoo Poznan, the young male is non-releasable rescue bird. The pair is on show in an aviary where previously steppe eagle was held (steppe eagle is no longer in collection).

It is rather difficult to call this place Polish or European Wildlife Park in type of.German Heimattiergarten. Park is divided into three parts: models of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, domestic animals farm with emphasis on Polish breeds and the most interesting bird park. Nice collection of pheasants and relatives (about 25 species, including several rare ones), waterfowl (about 20 species) plus some owls, birds of pray etc. all in quite good aviaries. Zoo recently imported two young wisents from the Gdańsk Zoo, but I don't know if this means there will be more species of Polish fauna. A few years ago the zoo planned to import a bear from Wrocław, but nothing came of it. Overall, it's worth visiting this place if someone happens to be nearby, especially since entry is free for all.

Their section of native Polish fauna will grow. Construction of new enclosure for Eurasian lynx (5000 m2) will start in next days and open in 8 months. This enclosure will be built in area that now lies outside perimeter fence of the zoo, thus total zoo area will grow after its completion.
