Lynx Edicions - What Next ?

Lynx posted a teaser for a new project today. "Something wild is coming! Stay Scared " and Black Panther eyes. I lost hope for some new big project, but let's see. 15th of May is the launch date.

So here is the new book. It is basically all the mammals of the world. If I knew this would have existed, I would have hold off from getting the checklist but oh well…

All the Mammals of the World – Lynx Nature Books

Edit: personally I do hope that there is an attempt to fix the New World monkey illustrations. In the checklist, some NW monkeys looked off and unnatural, some had inconsistent artwork, and most still had Wise’s artwork back from the handbooks.

I acquired copy of "All Asian Primates" from Lynx. I think I underestimated the book at the date of publication and I am happy that I added it to my collection. It is close photo portrait of all species and subspecies of Asian Primates, but there's a valuable taxonomy and conservation information as well.

Sadly this is remains the only New mammal project from Lynx, so far.

I recently received a newsletter from Lynx Edicions that the first volume of the Handbook of the Reptiles of the World, covering the Turtles and Crocodiles is currently being produced. The newsletter also mentioned they expect to reveal more and come back with pre-ordering details in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately, it seems like there are no size‐comparison illustrations used in overview box in introduction of each family.

Like in the Handbook of the Mammals of the World (HMW) series. It shows a human figure (or human silhouette) alongside the smallest and largest known members of a given mammal family, to visually convey the size range in that family. And in Handbook of the Birds of the World (HBW), a human hand silhouette alongside each bird family.
