What brutal, sad little enclosures. A macaque palace???

I think that the top red and white one looks nice and has climbing structures at the end so that is a plus.

Well, I spent this morning building another platform for the macaques, till I almost died in the heat. I will get picks tomorrow after I put it up.

I heard that ruins for macaques were common in early 20. century zoos - after Kipling's "Jungle Book".

Nowadays they could house rhesus with TV antennas, telephone wires and Bollywood adverts. Like their typical rooftop habitat in India. ;) Well, better not.

yeah, I have never really understood moats on macaque islands . . unless ofcourse the opposite side is a wall rather than a bank

The only reason I can think of for a wet moat (rather than a dry one is to keep the animals from being off-view down in the moat.
