A new squirrel monkey indoor habitat is on its way and will sit beside their current outdoor habitat. Currently they need to be transported across the zoo once it gets too cold to a winter holding. Once the new habitat is build they wont need to be moved anymore. The new habitat is expected to be ready by fall but the zoo is running an online raffle right now to help raise funds.

As a matter of fact, when reading this, the very same feeling of "end of life" treatment came to my mind.

When kidney disease is involved usually other major intestinal organs like liver or heart are similarly affected. Locomotion issues may also be indicative of nutritional deficiencies from early life husbandry or erstwhile sub-optimal animal care. In the larger tortoise species loss of locomotion and lack of exercise all result in tortoises losing condition. A kind of general wasting ...
 
Wow that is an ambitious plan for such a small zoo but if it can be pulled off the zoo would definitely move up the ranks a fair bit. Their additional species would really help the bigger Canadian zoos to support their breeding stock better by housing more surplus animals and maybe even breeding themselves. Hope they can pull it off.
 
The Zoo has had a few new arrivals this summer. 0.2 Spider Monkeys, Eve and Poppy from Toronto Zoo and 3.0 Red Neck Wallabies from Peterborough.

Looks like a brand new exhibit for the wallabies from the instagram post. It has been a long time since I have been to the zoo so I am not sure where. The spider monkeys I assume are in the primate centre.
